Part 4: Type of Electricity Supply

This section is intended to understand the supply you will require at the Permanent Supply Connection Address.

Permanent Supply Connection type?
Note: Additional fees and processes may apply for Non-Standard Connection Types.
Do you require a Current Transformer (CT) Meter?
Note: A CT (Current Transformer) Meter is installed on any connection with a load greater than 100 Amps.
A CT Meter only measures a fraction of the current passing through the connection and a multiplier is applied to this reading to reflect the actual current.
Do you require a HV or LV supply?
Note: Low voltage substations are generally suitable for loads up to 3MVA. Peel owns and is responsible for all equipment within the substation. High voltage options are generally suitable for loads above 3MVA.
The customer owns and is responsible for all equipment within the substation other than Peel's metering unit and any high voltage switches connecting the substation to the Peel network.
What is your estimated annual spend on electricity at the property upon completion?

Conditions of request to provide a formal quote

*No obligation to proceed

Submission of a new Temporary Supply Connection application does not oblige you to proceed with a new Temporary Supply Connection and the associated electricity infrastructure works unless you accept Peel's formal quote.

*Large Connections

If your connection will have a total maximum load greater than 1,000kVA or 10% of the relevant systems peak load, Peel reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or impose new conditions in connection with your Connection Application. Peel will need to apply the Customer Connections and Contribution Guidelines to the new connection.

*Design Fee

A formal quote is free of charge for connections that have a total maximum demand of 5 kVA or less. A design fee is payable for connections with a total maximum load of more than 5 kVA or connections which will require a CT Meter. The Design Fee is specified in the Fees and Charges section of Peel's Customer Connection and Contribution Guidelines which you can request a copy of, from our Customer Service Team. Peel shall issue you with a tax invoice for the Design Fee (if applicable) after Peel received the completed New Electricity Connection Application form from you. Peel will only commence preparation of the detailed design and formal quote when this fee (if applicable) is paid. Cost of the Design Fee may increase if the actual costs incurred by Peel in preparing the detailed design and formal quote exceed the design fee, the difference will be incorporated in the formal quote and will be payable by you in accordance with the terms and conditions attached to the formal quote.

*Design fee non-refundable

The Design Fee is not refundable, even if you decide not to engage Peel to proceed with the electricity infrastructure works.

*Additional charges

Peel may impose an increase to charges or impose new charges in accordance with the Customer Connection and Contribution Guidelines and will do its best to ensure that you are provided with prompt notice of any such increases or new charges.

*Statutory approvals and clearances

You are responsible for obtaining any statutory approvals in relation to the proposed electricity infrastructure works at your own cost, including planning approval and approvals in relation to heritage, Native Title, Aboriginal heritage, flora and fauna, or any vegetation clearances from the appropriate government body or agency.

*New Connection arrangements are separate to electricity supply arrangements

If you accept the formal quote, this does not address the requirement to have an electricity supply agreement in place in relation to the supply of electricity at the premises. Except to the extent that you have already made arrangements for the supply of electricity to the premises, Peel will provide you with an offer to supply electricity at the premises along with the formal quote.
